The teccrab 2013 Online Marketing and Social Media Management Seminar

Posted on Updated on

2013-OnlineMarketing_SocialMediaManagementPromoting your product and services can be challenging. For many small businesses and startups the internet seems to be a good and cheap way to do advertising. But before investing a lot of money in the wrong platform, you should know a bit more about the many different ways to promote your business, product and services online. Often a combination of more than one platform leads to a higher success than just putting everything into one online advertisement campaign.

Our weekend seminar is designed to help you to find out which platform is the best for your business. We will talk about Online Marketing in general and also talk about Social Media integration into your Online Marketing campaign. To secure that you will get the most out of our seminar we keep our groups small, only a max of 10 participant per weekend. We also decided to offer this amazing two day seminar for a very discounted price. Only $129.00 for two full days.

Included are the following topics:

Online Marketing
We will talk about Online Marketing in general. Mention the most popular platforms to promote your business, products, services or events online. Plus talk about possible combinations.

SEO and SEMSEO and SEM
You may have heard a lot about those two. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization and SEM for Search Engine Marketing, but what does it mean? We hope we can help to get a bit more light on this subject for you in our seminar.

Blogging (Public Relations Services)Blogging
In our experience Blogging is especially for small businesses a great way to inform customers about your business, products, services, special offers and events. A Blog can be a very powerful tool to help you reaching your goals, even with a very low budget.

SEO and SEMKeywords / Tags
To help your customers finding your Blog or website you will need to add keywords so that your site pops up when someone uses a search engine. Let us guide you a little by explaining how important Keywords and Tags are.

Social Media – Overview
Our second day is all about Social Media. We will start with a little introduction and we will also combine things we learned the day before into this topic.

facebookFacebook
What is the difference between a Facebook Profile, a Facebook Page and a Facebook Group? How can you integrate them into your Online Marketing Strategy and more important should you?

twitterTwitter
Telling a storey with only 140 characters is not easy. Is Twitter really the right platform for you? Or is it just a waste of time? Let us help you to find out.

linkedinLinkedIn
We like to call it the professional Social Media Platform. You can find here professionals from around the world, but can also use it to introduce not just yourself, but your business, products and services.

google_plusGoogle Plus
The Social Media Platform from Google. Some love it, some like it, some think it is not worse spending time and money on it. We would like to introduce it to you and maybe you will be surprised that you can find your audience here.

youtubeYouTube
Videos are a great way to introduce your products and services to your audience. Let us show you how you can use YouTube as a fantastic advertising platform.

We will close each day with an hour for your questions. We believe, because our groups are small, you can be sure that your questions will be answered. We are offering this seminar for this amazing price only until the end of December 2013. If you are interested check out our Event Calendar to find which weekend is best for you. The location of the seminar will be our consultation location in Downtown Vancouver.

We are looking forward to see you soon.

The new sales and marketing intern Zehra

Posted on

Zehra

My name is Zehra and for the next two months I will be working in the sales and marketing department of teccrab inc.

I thought that you certainly want to know who you’ll have to deal with for the next few weeks:

Well, as you’ve probably noticed, I have no typical Canadian name.

Maybe that’s because I was born about 8200 km away from Vancouver.

No, it’s not Italy, not France. Right!! I’m from Germany!

My family is originally from Bosnia, but I always lived in Huefingen, a small town in the southwest of Germany.

I am 20 years old and I’m studying economics. In one year I will hopefully have my bachelor’s degree.

At the moment, I want to get more experience in sales and marketing and also to brush up my English.

That is why INTERNeX, which is a partner of my university, suggested to do an internship at teccrab.

And where can I learn more than in a company, which is not only doing a great job but also working with a lot of passion?!

And now I’m sitting here in the office of teccrab, looking out the windows, enjoying the flare of Vancouver and hoping that the next two months at least be half as amazing as the last few days here in Canada.

I would be delighted if you would give some survival tips for Vancouver, ask me some questions or what I would like the most if you tell me some stories about yourself!

I’m looking forward to get many new impressions, to gain more experience and to meet a lot of cool people like you are!

Cheers,

Zehra

VideoProductionIn Episode 8 of INTERNeX HiGHLIGHTS of the week we included another great INTERNeX EXPLOReR were we went to Gastown.

teccrab presents INTERNeX HiGHLiGHTS of the week Ep. 7/2013

Posted on Updated on

VideoProductionWe started in May a new video project with INTERNeX. A show for their candidates to inform about upcoming trips, events and pub nights. We as well included in each video a short INTERNeX EXPLOReR where we introduce different locations in Vancouver.

Usually each episode is about 3 minutes long, but for episode 7 we went to see another of our clients, Craig from tangledthoughts.ca, where one of INTERNeX PR interns received a special treat. Craig is one of the best Hairdresser in Vancouver and you can usually find him in THE salon beauty bar on 505 Thurlow Street.

We needed for the production and postproduction of that video about 3 days. Little fun fact, while filming in THE salon beauty bar, another film crew closed the Thurlow Street in front of the salon to shoot a scene for the upcoming Godzilla movie. I admit it was very cool to produce a video right next to the big boys.

We also would like to mention that we had to change the format in episode 7 a little. The reason is because Clara, one of INTERNeX PR interns, is usually editing the videos. But for episode 7 we had to do the entire postproduction ourselves. Unfortunately we forgot to copy the intro and music Clara used for her videos and had therefore to improvise.

We hope you will enjoy the video and look forward to your comments.

Happy Canada Day – 2013

Posted on

We wish all our employees, interns, clients, partners and friends a very Happy Canada Day. Many of you know that July 2013 is for teccrab inc. a very special month. Not only have we partnered with a hosing company located in the Netherlands, we also work on a new concept for our website and will soon move into a fantastic office located in Downtown Vancouver. A strong relationship with a Vancouver based web developer will allow us to concentrate more on our online marketing packages without loosing the ability to offer high class websites to our clients. More about this will be revealed this month.

To celebrate Canada Day we have uploaded a new timeline picture, which you can find below. We hope everyone has a great day. Happy Canada Day 🙂

How much does a website cost?

Posted on Updated on

teccrab_inc-BlogPostThis post will be a bit longer because it is a question that is not easy to answer. I once saw a very clever post from a website developer who explained creating a website with buying a car. He explained in his example that you can get a cheap car or a luxurious car with a lot of extras and depending on what car you need or want you will pay for it either a little or a lot. I think that this example was very true and to the point. In my post today I would like to help you to get a better understanding for website development, how much you can expect your project will cost and will try to mention some prices so that you can do your own calculation.

The first question you will need to ask yourself is what kind of website do you need? The second is how much can you do yourself?

If you have a business where most of your costumers will visit your real store and not buy your products online, you most likely will go with a very simple website and use one of those “Do it Yourself” tools, to have at least something like an online business card.

But as soon as your business is growing you will see the need to present yourself a bit more professional and this will be the moment where you will start looking into the available options more closely. You will also see the need to look into someone with SEO knowledge and experience with social media tools as well as someone who can help you with internet marketing solutions.

You as successful business owner will have your experience with the fact that finding a good partner can be a challenge and you will know how important it is to have good partners on your site. Knowing that your online presents is an ongoing project and not just a tool you buy and use until it is broken is also a very important fact, because this will make you aware of securing the right partner on your site. To get back to the car example, you most likely will go to the same mechanic every time your car is broken, if you like and can trust this person. The same rule applies for sure for a doctor or dentist. If you do not feel comfortable with your doctor or dentist, you most likely won’t get back to that person. Read the rest of this entry »

How to generate a more secure password?

Posted on Updated on

Q&AYou may have heard the news about Twitter and that many accounts got hacked. This may raises the question now, how YOU can protect your accounts and how to create a secure password? There are many tools available to generate a random password, but let’s be honest, who can remember those? It becomes even more complicated if you have a different random password for every single account. By the way, you most definitely should have different passwords for different accounts. So again the question, how to create a strong and secure password which you can also remember?

The answer isn’t as complicated as it may seems. One rule you should have is that each password should be at least 7 characters long, should include a number and should have one capital letter.

Before we now go and generate our passwords, sort your accounts into groups. Email, Bank, Social Media are some group examples, but you can also go with Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn or how about Business and Private?

The next step is to come up with a sentence you can remember. Like “My zip code as a child was 555”

Based on this sentence we generate now our basic password by using the first letters combined with the number. Our basic password looks now like this “Mzcaacw555” and now, to have slightly different passwords for our different accounts, we add the group to it. Here some examples:

Facebook = “Mzcaacw555-FB”
Twitter = “Mzcaacw555-TW”
Email = “Mzcaacw555-EM”

The new teccrab website

Posted on Updated on

teccrab_inc-BlogPostI am very happy to announce that we recently launched our new website and I would like to invite you to check it out. With the new design we also introduce some services we didn’t had online with the previous version. We went with the latest Joomla version, Joomla 3.0, to realize this project. The latest version of Joomla is great for those who would like to have a fantastic looking and functional website not just on a computer, but also on a tablet or smart phone. We checked our new website on an iPad and iPhone and were very pleased with the result.

Beside changing the website we as well redesigned our Logo a little bit. We will still have the crab as our symbol, but created now alos a text version, which you can find now on our Blog, Facebook Page, LinkedIn Page, Google Page as well as our website of course. For our social media platforms we added the icons of the services we offer and we think the new look is clean and fits our overall design.

Because we will celebrate in February 2013 our first anniversary we plan to have some special deals for new customers. We encourage therefore everyone to check out our Blog frequently to see what we will have for you. We already started the new year with one of our new packages, called the Google AdWords KeyWord-Broker Start. This package is especially for small business owner designed and in our opinion a great and very risk free way to check us out and start using our services.

Beside the Google AdWords KeyWord-Broker Starter Package we plan to offer IT Training. This is based on a few conversation we had during the holidays were we talked with various people about the IT Training landscape in general. Most people were not pleased with the available IT Training options, told me about their experience were the training was either very expensive or not practical. I had my share with so called IT Training Provider as well. I had the experience that classrooms were often way to big or that the teacher couldn’t reach the student because they were “hiding” behind a screen.

Our classes will be 10 students max and our first training will be very basic, but hopefully useful, practical, a little bit entertaining and not very expensive.

We are very excited to see how well this new service will perform and can not wait to welcome the first class.

I hope this short update made you interested in our services and please visit our website http://teccrab.com to see what we have to offer. Don’t forget to leave a comment to let us know how you like the new site.

Cheers for now 🙂

MarioFit Fighting for Kids

Posted on Updated on

There is exactly one month left to “MarioFit Fighting for Kids in Need” event. I can’t tell you how excited I am for this event. This is crunch time at teccrab! As a major sponsor, we have been doing all the online marketing to make this event as successful as possible. This includes developing the event website, which if I may say so, is looking pretty awesome.

If you haven’t heard, teccrab is currently working on this project to promote Mario Schiopu’s fight at the 2012 BC Karate Championship Tournament. Simon was at the Zone 5 Qualification round this past Sunday to cheer on Mario for officially qualifying to the main event on November 17th and 18th. A huge congratulation to Mario and we are very proud of him!

Mario is a former Romanian Karate Champion and is a certified 3 Dan Black Belt instructor by the World Karate Federation (WKF). After turning 50 years old, he wants to prove that with his knowledge in fitness and living healthy, he is more than competent to compete and win against much younger athletes. We have just launched the blog where Mario will be updating his training and progress daily!

Mario has a big heart and I can tell especially after meeting his family and his two gorgeous little girls. He wants to use this attention he has gained from all his sponsors and supporters for a good cause: helping children in need. Mario has picked two charities very dear to his heart: Children’s Hunger Fund and BC Children’s Hospital.

Living in Vancouver, it is easy to ignore all the people in the world that don’t have as much as we do. We really hope that this event will be able to provide awareness and much needed resources to children who are desperately in need of food or medical treatment.

We really hope that you will support this great cause by checking out our event’s website, Mario’s blog and giving us a “like” on our facebook page.

As for you faithful teccrab blog readers, here is a little sneak peak for what’s to come. We filmed a questions and answer video with Mario yesterday which took about two hours to do, but will be edited down to about 10 minutes. Stay tune as it will be ready in a short couple of days!

Cheers,

Queenie
