ArcanEngine – Build & 3D Print One-Of-A-Kind Tabletop Minis

Posted on

If you are a fan of Tabletop games then this is a Kickstarter project you don’t want to miss. What Zach Hill from ArcanEngine, a company located in Langley Canada, is offering is a platform that allows you to create your own miniature and get it 3D printed. You will be able to pick parts from a library that is constantly updated and create your own model. If you own a 3D printer you can download your creation and print it yourself. Of course if you do not have a 3D printer you can also get it shipped to your home.

The project started on November 15th, 2013 and will end at December 16th, 2013. The goal is to get CA$ 68,000 to get this project founded. To check out their rewards and to learn more about this project please go to their Kickstarter page at

The new teccrab website

Posted on Updated on

teccrab_inc-BlogPostI am very happy to announce that we recently launched our new website and I would like to invite you to check it out. With the new design we also introduce some services we didn’t had online with the previous version. We went with the latest Joomla version, Joomla 3.0, to realize this project. The latest version of Joomla is great for those who would like to have a fantastic looking and functional website not just on a computer, but also on a tablet or smart phone. We checked our new website on an iPad and iPhone and were very pleased with the result.

Beside changing the website we as well redesigned our Logo a little bit. We will still have the crab as our symbol, but created now alos a text version, which you can find now on our Blog, Facebook Page, LinkedIn Page, Google Page as well as our website of course. For our social media platforms we added the icons of the services we offer and we think the new look is clean and fits our overall design.

Because we will celebrate in February 2013 our first anniversary we plan to have some special deals for new customers. We encourage therefore everyone to check out our Blog frequently to see what we will have for you. We already started the new year with one of our new packages, called the Google AdWords KeyWord-Broker Start. This package is especially for small business owner designed and in our opinion a great and very risk free way to check us out and start using our services.

Beside the Google AdWords KeyWord-Broker Starter Package we plan to offer IT Training. This is based on a few conversation we had during the holidays were we talked with various people about the IT Training landscape in general. Most people were not pleased with the available IT Training options, told me about their experience were the training was either very expensive or not practical. I had my share with so called IT Training Provider as well. I had the experience that classrooms were often way to big or that the teacher couldn’t reach the student because they were “hiding” behind a screen.

Our classes will be 10 students max and our first training will be very basic, but hopefully useful, practical, a little bit entertaining and not very expensive.

We are very excited to see how well this new service will perform and can not wait to welcome the first class.

I hope this short update made you interested in our services and please visit our website http://teccrab.com to see what we have to offer. Don’t forget to leave a comment to let us know how you like the new site.

Cheers for now 🙂

Simon

teccrab first website -BETA-

Posted on Updated on

The first version of the teccrab website is now finally online. The site is still in a BETA phase, but the main content, even if they still have to be reviewed again, is online. There is still much to do, but the BETA does look great already. Well at least that is what we think 🙂

If you check out our site you will see that we tried to have the Top of our website similar to the Top of our Blog. The first page has at the moment 3 images, which are rotating. Each image represents one of our core services. Below the rotating images we have a little welcome text followed by the copyright, address and links to our Disclaimer, Contact Us and About Us pages.

By clicking on “Services” you will find the core services teccrab is offering. We have Website Developing, Internet Marketing and Public Relations as the main products and split that later into sub services such as SEO, Banner and Button Design, Blog posting and Online Reputation Management, to  name just a few.

Please find here the images you will as well find on our website. You will see that each service has it’s own little icon, we think this is a nice extra touch.

Please visit our website at teccrab.com and leave a comment below how you like our first website.

Thanks 🙂

Preparation of a new website

Posted on

It is always a great moment to start a new project. But working on your own project is in my experience often even harder than working on a project of a client. Maybe it is because your client gives you some structure and will pressure you to finish a project in a certain time, but if you create your own website you don’t really have anybody pushing you to finish it other than yourself. I also often noticed that you can find yourself in the position to come up with many great ideas how to present yourself and don’t realize that you loose yourself in small details.

I am building websites since 1997 and created sites for insurance companies, travel agencies, restaurants, educational services, non profit organization, scientists, energy consultant, magazines, TV channel, events, movies, construction companies and many more. I had the great opportunity to meet many fantastic people over the years and to build for and with them amazing websites, but working on my own site was always the biggest challenge for me.

Today I cleaned up my server and deleted all the sandbox sites I created over the last couple years. I used those sites to test new systems, modules and extensions. I got rid of old MySQL DB which I wasn’t using anymore. Uploaded the latest version of Joomla and redirected my domains to new destinations. I have a concept in mind, a good product to sell and look forward to work on my own new website to present my services.

Something that is different from when I started is that I am much better organized. I get less distracted and am more focused. This Blog will hopefully encourage you, some new web designer, to do the same and start working on your own project. See yourself as a client and do what you would do if you were one. It will take time and you may need to step back a moment to finish the project that actually will pay the bills, but you will see at the end it will pay off if you tread yourself as if you were your own client.

Starting a new project is always exciting and I am looking forward to work on the new teccrab website.
